DTF Transfer Printing in Anderson & Redding

Full-color, photo-quality prints with no per-color setup and a minimum of just 4 pieces. When screen printing’s 24-shirt minimum or color count doesn’t fit the job, DTF is the answer. Family-owned in Shasta County since 1989.

Direct-to-film, full color

DTF stands for direct-to-film. We print your design — every color at once — onto a special film, then heat-press it right onto your garment. Because nothing gets separated into individual screens, there’s no per-color setup and no ceiling on how many colors you can use. That’s what makes it the easy choice for full-color logos, gradients, and even photographs.

Its real superpowers are three: a low minimum of just 4 pieces, full-color and photo designs at one price, and it prints beautifully on cotton, blends, and performance fabrics alike. It’s the method we reach for when screen printing’s 24-piece minimum or its color count doesn’t fit what you need. We’ve been helping Anderson and Redding businesses, teams, and families since 1989, and every DTF order gets a free proof before we press a thing.

Made for small & colorful

When DTF is the perfect fit

Small Teams & Groups

A youth team, a small crew, a family reunion, a church group — when you only need a handful of shirts, the 4-piece minimum has you covered.

One-Offs & Samples

A single prototype, a proof of concept, or one special shirt for a gift. DTF makes short runs simple without the setup a big order needs.

Full-Color & Photo Designs

Gradients, fine detail, and photo-realistic images print cleanly at one price — no counting colors, no compromise on the artwork.

Mixed Garment Types

One order with cotton tees, poly jerseys, and fleece hoodies in light and dark colors? DTF handles them all with the same transfer.

Quick Small Batches

A short run you need done without a lot of fuss. DTF is a fast, flexible way to get a few good-looking pieces out the door.

Add-Ons to a Bigger Order

Need a few staff shirts in a different color, or a couple extra sizes after the main run? DTF fills the gaps without a whole new setup.

Why DTF

When DTF is the right call

It’s the most flexible method we offer for small, colorful jobs — but not the cheapest at high volume. Here’s the honest breakdown.

No Color Limits

Full color for one price. Because the whole design prints at once, we don’t charge per color the way screen printing does — a two-color logo and a full photo cost the same to print.

Low Minimum

Start at just 4 pieces — the lowest minimum of anything we do. Great when you don’t need 24 shirts and don’t want to pay for them either.

Big Run? Try Screen Printing

Ordering a lot of the same design with just a few colors? Screen printing gets cheaper per shirt as the count climbs. We’ll tell you honestly which one saves you money.

What affects your price

A few things move the number

DTF doesn’t have one flat price — it depends on your design and your order. And here’s the part people like: colors never add to the cost, so a full-color print is priced the same as a simple one. Tell us what you have in mind and we’ll give you an honest quote, usually the same day.

Quantity
Like anything, the more pieces you order, the less each one tends to cost. But you can start as low as 4.
Size of the print
A small left-chest transfer uses less film than a big full-back design, so the size of the print matters more than the colors in it.
Number of pieces
How many garments you’re pressing overall. More pieces spreads the work and usually nudges the per-piece price down.
The garment
A basic cotton tee, a poly jersey, or a fleece hoodie — the blank you choose is part of the price.
Turnaround
About two weeks from your approved proof. Need it faster? Rush is roughly a week for about $2 more per shirt — just ask.
Works on nearly any fabric

Prints on just about anything

One of the best things about DTF is how little the fabric matters. It bonds cleanly to cotton, cotton/poly blends, and polyester or performance fabrics, and it looks great on both light and dark garments — no separate white underbase for you to worry about. That means a single order can mix tees, hoodies, jerseys, and totes of different colors and materials, all with the same great-looking transfer. Not sure your item will work? Send it our way and we’ll confirm before we run anything.

Common questions

DTF Transfer FAQs

What’s the minimum order for DTF transfers?
Just 4 pieces. DTF has the lowest minimum of anything we do, so it’s perfect for a small team, a handful of samples, or a few shirts for a family event. There’s no big order required to get a full-color, professional print.
What is DTF printing?
DTF stands for direct-to-film. We print your full-color design onto a special film, then heat-press it onto your garment. Because the whole design is printed at once, there are no separate screens to make and no limit on colors — which is why it works so well for photos, gradients, and detailed artwork in small quantities.
DTF or screen printing — which should I choose?
For small orders and full-color or photo designs, DTF is usually the better call — there’s no per-color setup and the minimum is just 4. For bigger runs of the same design, screen printing gets cheaper per shirt as the quantity climbs, especially with only a few colors. Tell us your quantity, your artwork, and your budget and we’ll point you to whichever costs less for your job.
What garments can you put DTF transfers on?
Just about anything. DTF holds well on cotton, cotton/poly blends, and polyester or performance fabrics, and it works on both light and dark garments — no separate white underbase needed from you. That makes it a great fit when one order mixes tees, hoodies, and jerseys of different fabrics and colors.
How durable are DTF transfers — do they hold up in the wash?
Yes. When they’re pressed right, DTF prints are stretchy and durable and stand up to regular washing without cracking or peeling. To get the most life out of them, wash inside-out in cold water and skip the high-heat dryer.
Can you do full-color designs and photos with DTF?
Absolutely — that’s DTF’s strong suit. Full color, gradients, fine detail, and photo-realistic images all print at one price, because we’re not charging per color the way screen printing does. Send your artwork and we’ll send a free proof before anything runs.
